As well as a Kickstarter exclusive version of the box and additional red-coloured "Impossible Mode" versions of all the core games ghosts there were a host of unique Ghostbuster figures (including female Ghostbusters, with secretary Janine and goth Kylie from Extreme Ghostbusters represented) and a bunch of new ghosts, board tiles and missions. Before you can tackle Slimer directly, however, you must first close all four gates, except each gate requires two proton streams and not only slimes every Ghostbuster that misses, but also spits out a ghost, too, which is something of an issue when the Spirit World contains a measly three ghosts to begin with. It appears possible the parapsychology teacher Molly took before he was fired during the term was Peter, Egon, or Ray. Now, I know I’m pretty strong into the board gaming hobby at this point, but I’ve never spent that much money on a game before. Ghosts can’t actually kill Ghostbusters or even truly harm them, though, so there’s no threat of dying on the job.

By hitting Slimer you can coax him towards a Ghostbuster by two spaces, and a miss sends him off in a random direction, so with a bit of patience you can lure him away from his goal. With this change, we have also upgraded Tobin's Spirit Guide Box to make sure they will all fit with ease. Cryptozoic Entertainment put in some serious effort to make sure that this game looked FANTASTIC and was absolutely DRIPPING with theme. The actions include moving, driving, firing a proton stream, depositing a trap, and removing slime from yourself or another Ghostbuster.

It’s a shame everything doesn’t fit into the box, but if we’d had the Lewis Tully expansion boxed separately, like Slimer, I think it would have easily all gone in together. This adds a nice sense of progression to the game, and if that isn’t your thing then there’s always three standalone boss battles to try out, or you can build your own custom scenarios. The people who have bought the game at retail and have no way to get the supplemental material are pretty miffed, while some people who bought the kickstarter feel that releasing the goods at retail after promising not to would be highly unprofessional behaviour. You're having to roll a die, singular, with no way of controlling the outcome, which will cause the target to run in a random direction, regardless of whether you hit it or not, so there's no way to plan for it, and if you get hit, you have less opportunities to repeat this insanity on your turn? Other scenarios have ghosts trying to swarm the Ecto-1 or escape from the board, plus there’s some neat new rules that get introduced, like ghosts spawning on Ghostbusters instead of gates or having to swap places with enemies. Even the act of trying to battle ghosts with the Proton Packs feels like a wasted opportunity because you feel like you could be doing anything else, such as firing a gun or attacking with a sword. So, as I cracked open that sucker and looked at Grenn and Pyp and Alliser Thorne, I realized, they all look pretty similar to each other in regards to their paint jobs.Unfortunately, there was no room for the other components once they were punched out, so I had to do away with the brown box and simply dumped all of the minis into the core box (which has no insert). The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is the worst because tokens can’t really be hung off of him, his base is massive compared to the tokens and he needs a lot of streams to be captured. When a game tells me that it's 1-4 players, that usually means that 1-4 players take control of each of the Ghostbusters. I sat back and hoped that one day, I would be able to find it in a trade or flea market sale somewhere and snatch it away from the grubby little hands of all the other gamers.
