The Decepticons having stolen the Matrix of Creation, Hot Rod was called up by Ultra Magnus to help retrieve it. Thanks to Ultra Magnus’s timely interference, the Brain Drain device was destroyed and the Autobots were victorious that day.If Jazz and Springer convinced Hot Rod and Kup to return to Metroplex city to make sure they didn’t have a few wires loose, Ratchet found nothing wrong with the pair, but the incident was forgotten nonetheless. The Invasion of the Decepticon Camp A War of Giants As Starscream struggled to maintain control of his new form, a burst of energy sent Rodimus and the Mistress of Flame flying. Darkest Hour After Starscream's defeat, Rodimus and the Mistress of Flame stood by as Windblade made a peace offering by handing the Enigma over to Victorion. Destruction's Dawn This version of the mold removes the pins in his arms and instead the arms stay in via very small pegs. This is likely due to the part being prone to breakage. Take Rodimus Prime, twist all that's good and noble inside him into cruelty and hatred, and the hollow shell of evil you're left with is Rodimus Unicronus. This Hot Rod is a 1/64 non-transforming but screen-accurate vehicle mode based on his alternate mode seen in the film. Accessories: trailer/evolution armor, evolution armor arms, rifle (formed by two blasters), Matrix of Chaos frame, Matrix of Chaos core Originally, Rodimus was going to be the jerk character of Animated. This means his team is roughly 60% scrapped ideas, although 40% of those are because of the live-action movie. The Autobots were caught by surprise when it seemed at first that a tank and jet were about to crash into one another on the battlefield, only for them to transform together into the Decepticon Flywheels! Later, Kup led Hot Rod, Arcee, and the Dinobots on a special mission to take supplies from Earth to a space station on Cybertron's second moon. Despite Kup's warnings, the Dinobots loaded too many supplies onto the ship, and in the middle of their journey, the ship began to have problems. Hot Rod reassured Arcee that everything would be okay, but the ship was going down! It crashed on a planet which Kup recognized. It was the planet Quintesson! They were interrupted by a tribal scream and a flurry of firestones. However, the boy who made his presence known was not aiming at them, but at the Quintessons behind them. The boy's name was Wheelie, and he had been abandoned on the planet when his ship crashed their earlier. Pulled by Sparks and Firebolt, Shib used Rodimus's body to run an all-purpose courier service in the little settlement of Fembrance, even though a new generation of fast, steam-powered cars threatened to undercut Shib's livelihood. One evening, after she helped rescue some miners from a cave-in up in the mountains, Shib returned to the town square just in time to see another Cybertronian approaching the village. The sight roused Rodimus into action, who promptly broke cover and decapitated the invader after a short, one-sided fight. Gathering the remnants of his wagon disguise around himself as a makeshift cape, Rodimus set out to investigate where the "visitor" had come from, and warned the inhabitants of Fembrance not to follow him. Last Bot Standing #1 Rodimus and his casemate Ironhide are the first Animated figures to be secured by twisted paper strips instead of metal and plastic twist-ties. Rodimus's injuries left him too damaged to safely activate the Enigma, and this injury allowed Starscream to get his hands on the Enigma and betray his nominal allies by taking the relic's power for himself. Hot Rod accompanied Kup on a night drive in the desert, when he noticed a spacecraft barreling down from the heavens towards them. As it landed, Hot Rod perceived that it would alternate between being visible and invisible. Curious, he prompted Kup to come with him to investigate.If they managed to blast away both asteroids, they reached a vast, empty expanse of space within the asteroid belt. Despite no longer being in danger of being crushed, Hot Rod announced that he had a horrible sense of foreboding about their situation. His feelings of being watched were confirmed when the Decepticons, now invisible, began firing upon them. The Autobots considered retreating, but Kup reminded them that Sarah Sanders had not perfected her device yet, and the Decepticons’ invisibility may yet wear off. Years later, Hot Rod held a fairly high rank in the Autobot army, equivalent to Prowl, and was sent on a mission to Ki-Aleta to retrieve the Magnificence which turned into a only technically-successful disaster, with himself the only apparent survivor. Spotlight: Hot Rod When he found out Dealer had also survived, he rescued him from a Decepticon prison, unaware that he was the traitor who had caused things to go so wrong. Soon after, he was called to Earth to aid Optimus Prime, but briefly returned to retrieve the Magnificence to gain information on the Expansion, during which he discovered Dealer's treachery and killed him. Spotlight: Doubledealer Spotlight: Sideswipe Thereafter, he returned to his information-gathering task on the Machination, and though was badly beaten by Scorponok, he still aided in the Decepticon's defeat. Maximum Dinobots #2 The box features original art by Marcelo Matere [14] of Hot Rod in robot and vehicle mode laid over a scene of the interior of one of the Autobot shuttles featured in the film. Interestingly, the art appears to use Studio Series 86 Hot Rod as a model. In one possible scenario, Hot Rod, unable to control himself, snatched the device away from Sarah. Despite Sarah’s protests, Hot Rod insisted that the device would be put at its best use in the hands of the Autobots, keeping the world safe from the Decepticons. As Hot Rod daydreamed of glory while driving towards the Autobots’ base, he accidentally triggered the Invisibility Device’s self-destruct mechanism. The ensuing explosion blew him to bits. Hot Rod, Kup, and Blurr came to Optimus Prime's aid when the Autobot leader was fighting against Starscream, Skywarp, Cyclonus, and Scourge. If Kup agreed to look into the spacecraft right away, the two Autobots were surprised to spot a young woman emerge from the craft. Though Hot Rod startled her at first, the woman was reassured that the Autobots were friendly beings by Kup. Hot Rod learned that her name was Sarah Sanders, and that she was a scientist working to perfect her latest invention, an " Invisibility Device." Rodimus comes with a PVC figurine of the Rodimus's "Kiss Player" partner Shaoshao Li and a bamboo dumpling steamer; Shaoshao can just barely fit into his car interior, though she's clearly not "driving". The set also includes a CD with episodes 11 through 20 of the Kiss Players radio drama and the exclusive 10-minute audio adventure, " Tonight's Big Catch!?". Hot Rod was officially revealed during the December 3, 2021 Transformers team roundtable with fans, and then appeared at retail in Asia just a few days later. As such, Hot Rod is the last War for Cybertron Trilogy toy to be revealed and released.Titans Return Rodimus Prime is a retool of Titan Master Ptero with a new torso and head-mode face, both of which are painted-over die-cast metal. Power of the Primes "Evolution Rodimus Prime" consists of a Deluxe-sized Hot Rod and a trailer, which can combine with the smaller robot to form the Leader-sized Rodimus Prime. Both robot modes feature exceptional articulation, largely due to the way both robot modes transform. However, neither has a rotating waist for the same reason. This figure features minimal partsforming, with the Rodimus Prime fists being formed by attaching the two halves of the front end of the trailer to Hot Rod's knees. Corrupted by Megatronus, this version of Rodimus has all the brash, take-action nature of the original and none of the self-doubt. Why? Because he's no longer responsible for anything. As far as he's concerned, he's not even responsible for the atrocities he commits. After all, the universe deserves to burn. And burn it will, as he's lost none of the speed, strength, and skill of his former self. That’s right: Season 4.
